Communication Credibility

What's it About?

Often we take communication skills (both verbal and nonverbal) for granted, believing that it is "silly" to take a course concerning things we do as naturally as breathing.  After all, nobody needs a course in learning how to breathe.  The difference is, however, breathing is something we do automatically, without thinking.  The various aspects of communication include things we must make ourselves do, things we do consciously.  Because it's not as natural as breathing, it's something we must learn to do.  This program provides the strategies and techniques necessary to communicate effectively

Who Should See It?

Designed for both managers and staff,  it provides valuable insights to all, from the most seasoned manager to the newest staff member.

Why Should this be a Concern?

Interpersonal communications are basic life skills. They make up your personal software, allowing you to send and receive messages in all types of situations. The more you understand this software, the better you will be at using, adapting and upgrading it at the appropriate times.

As your ability to communicate increases, via the acquiring and updating of your personal software (new concepts and skills), you reach new levels of interaction. Most of us have heard of the traditional communication model which states that communication is a two-way street. Messages must be both sent and received for communication to be achieved.

While this is still a valid model, the updated model is 3-dimensional, with varying facets that change, along with the dynamics of the personalities and behavioral styles of the participants.

When you become complacent about your everyday communication skills, breakdowns occur and respect is neither given nor gained. Just like a virus can cause frustration and often costly bills for repair or replacement of both hardware and software, the inability to communicate does damage to your relationships, both personal and professional. Reviewing, enhancing and expanding what you already know is the key to keeping your communication software upgraded to the highest level and the key to interacting positively and appropriately with others, establishing rapport and gaining their respect.

Your ability to communicate positively depends on your personal attitude. These software skills must be continually updated. However, without a sound, functioning processor — your personal attitudes, values, beliefs and respect for others — the latest and greatest software will not be used to its’ full potential.
