The world has an increasing need for more leaders – leaders who are thoughtful, intuitive, strong, educated, energized, engaged, optimistic, self-aware, have a shared purpose with deep meaning, and have both the desire and ability to connect and share with others.
Having the appropriate tools to serve in a leadership position, regardless of the industry or the culture, is essential to achieving success. Focusing on the strengths that women bring to the table can be done more effectively in ‘women only’ sessions.
Leadership skills are generic. How they are understood, embodied, and integrated into a leadership position presents interesting challenges and amazing rewards. Research tells us that women integrate them differently than men. Celebrating those differences and using the strengths we develop from our unique experiences allow women to grow into mature leaders with distinctive abilities.
Susan Luke co-created the High (Heel) Performance Leadership program with Kerri Smith. It was originally designed specifically for women in the credit union industry, who aspired to become more dynamic leaders. It’s more global application can be applied to women across industry lines.
